புத்தகம் (Book)

                படித்த எழுத்துக்கள் சிறிது சிறிதாக புதைந்து கொண்டு இருந்தது. வறண்ட நிலம், மழை துளி அறிந்திருக்க வாய்ப்பில்லை. சாலை என கண்டறிய ஓரம் நின்று கொண்டிருந்த முதிர்ந்த மரம் ஒன்றே உதவும். சாட்சி கூறும் வயதும் அதற்கு முடிந்திருக்க கூடும். இருவர் மட்டும் அயலில் காத்து கொண்டு இருந்தனர். யார்க்கு என விசாரிக்க யாரும் இல்லை என்பதை விட, யாருக்கு என்று அவர்களுக்குமே தெரியாது என்பது வேடிக்கை அளிக்கும் வகையில் இருந்தது. இருவரின் உரையாடல் பொருளற்றபடி உள்ளதாக கூறப்பட்டதிருந்தது.ஏனோ… படித்த வரை எனக்கு ஏராளமான பொருள் தந்தது. தொடர்ந்து வாசிக்க முயன்றேன்.

               சட்டென்று அவள் பக்கத்தை புரட்டி விட்டாள். பிறகே அறிந்தேன்; நான் படிக்க அமர்ந்த புத்தகம் அதுவல்ல என்று…

         The written letters were slowly being buried. The dry land was unlikely to know the raindrops. Only the mature tree standing on the side to find the road would help. It may have also reached the age to testify. Only two people were waiting there. It was funny that they didn’t even know who they were waiting for rather than the fact that there was no one to ask for whom they were waiting for. Their conversation was said to be meaningless. Somehow… it gave me a lot of meaning as far as I read it. I tried to continue reading.
